This was a broadside produced in 1905 to promote the California Wine Association or Calwa which was a cartel style organization with intent to control wine prices and to reorganize the California wine industry. Eventually,CALWA became the most important binding wine force that changed the history of the Wine Industry in California, controlling 80% plus of all wine distribution of California wines before Prohibition. Their 40 acre facility at Point Molate in Richmond, California called “WINEHAVEN” was an incredible factor in the California wine distribution wine marketplace with shipping facility on San Francisco Bay to the world.
